Telangana retains stronghold with Positive Talent Balance of White-Collar Professionals – Xpheno Report

Hyderabad, April 10 2026: According to Xpheno’s latest research report, “T+ve: A Talent Positive Telangana,” retained its position as one of 6 Indian states with Positive Talent Balance. The state continues to strengthen its position as one of India’s leading talent hubs, emerging third in terms of Net Positive Talent balance.

Telangana, over the last Fiscal Year ending March 2026, recorded a Positive Talent Balance (PTB) of 25,500 on the 2-way talent movement corridors with other Indian states. This PTB emerged from over 77,800 talent absorptions from outside the state and a simultaneous departure of 52,300white-collar talent. This high PTD emphasizes Telangana’s increasing appeal to both talent and businesses alike, especially as a hotspot for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). The report links the State’s progress as a talent hub to several factors: business-friendly policies, excellent world-class infrastructure, and a vibrant commercial ecosystem. Together, these elements make the state a strong choice for skilled professionals and enterprises alike.

More global logos are landing in Hyderabad for establishing their greenfield GCCs and enterprises with operational GCCs are picking up the city for expansion units. Hyderabad is central to the state’s growth, hosting most of its 23.88 lakh experienced white-collar talent. The city attracts in-bound talent from major metros like Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai, reinforcing its reputation as a career hub.
Telangana’s total accessible white-collar talent pool stands at 48.8 lakh, a 17% increase from last year. Nearly half of this pool are experienced professionals with more than 1 year of working experience. IT /ITeS continues to be the leading sector, employing 39% of active experienced talent pool, with engineering as the top function.
The state also maintains a solid pipeline of skilled professionals, producing over 1 lakh engineers each year.
The report also notes significant talent movement, with professionals moving on corridors between Telangana and states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. Internationally, the United States is the main talent corridor, indicating Telangana’s growing links in global talent markets.
Active job seekers across India are increasingly interested in Hyderabad as a location of choice; more than 25 lakh active jobseekers have expressed a preference for it. This demonstrates the city’s rising attraction for fresh and experienced talent. Over 4 Lac experienced white-collar professionals from Bengaluru have stated a preference for Hyderabad as their next career destination.
With a steady influx of talent, more GCCs, and increasing interest from jobseekers, Telangana is improving its ability to attract and retain skilled professionals. It is truly becoming a key player in India’s talent market.
